HackDay is a golf scorecard made by Oak & Finch Interactive. This policy explains what the iPhone app and this website handle, why, and the choices you have.
Information we handle
When you use HackDay, you may provide a display name; golf-course names and locations; player and group names; scorecards; notes; club and carry-distance entries; and group messages or reactions. If you use Sign in with Apple, HackDay receives an account identifier so your data can be associated with your account.
HackDay can use your camera to scan a scorecard or trace a ball flight. Camera frames and scorecard images are processed on your device; the current app does not upload that footage or those images to our servers for processing. If you choose to share a rendered scorecard or tracer image, the destination you select receives it under that destination's own terms.
How we use it
We use this information to run the scorecard, save your history, show group leaderboards and activity, calculate club-distance summaries, provide customer support, protect the service, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
Where it is stored and shared
Guest rounds, your bag, course cache, and camera-calibration data are stored on your device. When you sign in, HackDay syncs account-linked round history and club-shot data with Supabase. The current app restricts private rounds and club shots to the relevant account.
Groups are social by design. Other members of a group can see the group name, member display names, leaderboard statistics, posted round summaries, reactions, and live group messages. Use care with names, notes, and messages you choose to share in a group. HackDay does not currently offer a public community scorecard-contribution feature.
Apple provides Sign in with Apple and processes App Store purchases. Course searches are sent directly to GolfCourseAPI to return matching golf-course information. The current app does not route course searches through OakShield Gateway or use an OpenGolfCourseAPI fallback. These providers may handle information under their own privacy policies.
Website information
This website does not include a contact form, advertising, analytics, or third-party web fonts. As with most websites, the hosting provider may process technical request information, such as an IP address and browser details, to deliver and secure the site.
Retention and deletion
We do not set a fixed automatic deletion period for account-linked app data. You can delete a round, leave a group, or delete a group you own in the app. Deleting a synced round removes it from your Card and group leaderboards, while a limited deletion record may remain in the sync service to prevent it from returning on another device.
Deleting the app removes its local data from the device, subject to your device and backup settings. The current app does not include a self-service account-deletion control. To request access to or deletion of account-linked data, email support@hackdaygolf.com. We may retain information where required or permitted by law, including a limited record needed to prevent fraud or meet legal obligations.
Children
HackDay is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information through HackDay, contact us at support@hackdaygolf.com so we can review and address the request.
